Wood has fascinated me since I was a child. When I work this material, I blossom and I feel the energy of this material. Every piece of wood is unique and tells its own personal story. It is alive, has a soul and speaks its own language. The variety of structures and colors fascinate me again and again.
The power of wood seems to transfer directly to the human being. That is why I am often in nature in my free time. The forest with its many trees is my source of inspiration and I am gifted with many ideas. My concern is to be able to illustrate the power of wood which is in a tree that is hundreds of years old. That is why I work with driftwood, roots, tree trunks or a prefabricated piece from the sawmill and form sculptures from it. To express the uniqueness of the wood, I work with full dedication and passion. Finally, it gives me great pleasure to share the creativity and the product with my fellow men.
I was born in 1990 and grew up with my three brothers in a small village in the Engadine. With the whole family we have always been out in nature a lot. Even today, I enjoy doing outdoor sports with my brothers and parents. After an apprenticeship as a cabinet maker, I worked for a few years as a cross-country ski instructor, bike guide and sporting goods saleswoman in Pontresina. However, I could not fully use my creativity in this job. I also missed the physical work and the proximity to the wood. So in 2016 I began my second training as a wood sculptor in Brienz- and found my dream job. Now I'm looking forward to being self-employed, to daily challenges and to implementing my numerous ideas.
