If only I could beam, I'd be carving faster in the morning. My passion. My source. My passion. In addition to the skill, exactly this enthusiasm and love inspires my objects.
Realizing my own ideas is a celebration.
Commissioned work (eg human figures, animals, ornaments, abstract, found sculptures) I gladly accept. The important thing is that it "clicks".
During the work I am completely with the developing object. This focused creative-craft process also opens the mind for new ideas. I record these in my sketchbooks. There they take a vacation until the time is right.
Draw, create template, cut wood, machine, glue, draw in, chain saw, carve, sharpen chisel again and again, rasp, paint face, oil

The chainsaw is an important part of my equipment. A tree trunk is not yet a sculpture. First I have to saw out a rough shape with the chain saw. With the carving sword I can then work out the expression in detail. Sometimes I don't even need a chisel anymore. Noisy chainsawing (eccentric) and silent carving (concentric) is a successful mixture. Simply marvelous!
It all started with the found wood sculptures. That's when I first experienced this indescribable feeling of happiness - and I've stuck with it.
Again and again I am drawn to the forest. I let myself drift and thus find the roots with which I can communicate. The root determines what-how-where. I like to be guided, because the formal language of nature is already a work of art. To bring out its beauty even more, I bring out lines and form, which give the piece more peace.
